What RAMQ covers

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
The CDCP helps eligible residents without private insurance cover part of their care. The clinic accepts the CDCP; we tell you what applies to your situation.
The CDCP fee, with no additional charges
At Écodentaire Clinic, care covered by the Canadian Dental Care Plan is billed at the fee established by the plan. No additional charges are billed to you. Only the co-payment set by the CDCP according to your adjusted family net income applies, where applicable. This matters, because the plan leaves every dentist free to bill patients the gap between their usual fees and the CDCP fee. The Government of Canada in fact advises patients to ask about this before receiving care. Here, the answer is written down: for covered care, there is no gap to pay.
A written estimate before any treatment
No treatment starts here until you hold a written plan: the procedures involved, what your plan should cover, what you owe. You decide with the full picture, never under pressure. For major treatment we send a predetermination to your insurer, who confirms coverage in writing before you commit. And if cost is a barrier, say so — there is almost always a way to stage treatment, or to address what is urgent first.

How do I find out what my treatment will cost?
Through a written estimate, provided after the exam and before any treatment. It details each procedure, what your plan covers and your share. Cost depends on the state of your mouth, the materials and the number of visits, which is why an exam always comes first. For major treatment, a predetermination can be sent to your insurer.
