Eco-responsible dentistry in Montreal
Choosing a dentist is not only about the procedure: it is also about what goes into your mouth and what gets left behind. In Outremont, we work without BPA and without mercury amalgam, and we cut single-use plastic wherever it can go without compromising asepsis.
No mercury amalgam
We do not place mercury amalgam. Canada is a party to the Minamata Convention on Mercury, which commits states to phasing down dental amalgam and restricts its use in vulnerable populations. Restorations are done in composite.
BPA-free materials
The composites and materials we use are free of bisphenol A. It is how we work every day, not an option you have to ask for.
Less single-use plastic
Dentistry generates a lot of disposables, and some of it is necessary: asepsis is not negotiable. We reduce the rest — whatever can be sterilised rather than thrown away is, and we skip superfluous packaging.
What it does not mean
Eco-responsible does not mean "natural" or "alternative". The care is ordinary dental care, delivered by general dentists who are members of the Ordre des dentistes du Québec, following the same protocols as anywhere else. The difference is in the materials and in what gets discarded.
Your questions about our dental care.
What is an eco-friendly dental clinic?
A clinic that reduces the environmental footprint of care: biocompatible BPA-free materials, no mercury amalgam, less single-use plastic. The care itself remains conventional dental care.
Do you place mercury amalgam fillings?
No. Canada is a party to the Minamata Convention on Mercury, which restricts the use of dental amalgam, particularly in vulnerable populations. Our restorations are done in composite.
Are your materials BPA-free?
Yes. The composites and materials used at the clinic are free of bisphenol A.
Does eco-responsible care cost more?
No. Fees depend on the procedure, not on the materials. Care covered by the Canadian Dental Care Plan is billed at the plan fee, with no additional charges beyond the applicable co-payment.
